Louisville Public Library
Where Innovation Meets Education
Fred Olivieri Construction Company was proud to partner with the Louisville Public Library in Louisville, Ohio, to bring a state-of-the-art 10,500-square-foot library to the community at Metzger Park. Recognizing the need for an upgraded facility, the library sought a new home as its previous location was outdated and presented various challenges. Metzger Park was chosen as the ideal site, ensuring the library would become a valuable addition to the park’s landscape.
Designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, the new library draws inspiration from the land it sits on. The striking stone façade was thoughtfully selected to complement the historic stone wall in the park, a remnant of the original Metzger Farm. In harmony with nature, the library will also feature beautifully designed garden areas and a prairie ecosystem, enhancing the park’s natural beauty.
Construction began in the spring of 2024. The use of a pre fabricated and panelized wood-framed structure helped accelerate the construction process, ensuring the building exterior was secured before winter. This was especially important given the weather-related delays experienced early on in construction.
The library boasts a variety of incredible features, including a hand-painted mural in the children’s area, a sensory room, a second-floor conference room, a Makers Space, exterior patios, and much more. We were truly honored to be the Louisville Public Library’s contractor of choice for this transformative project!
