Alfred A. and Virginia C. Olivieri founded Fred Olivieri Construction Company in 1959. Their son, Dean L. Olivieri, joined the company as vice president in 1980 and has served as president since 1991.

The company’s first big break came in the form of gas station construction. From 1960-70 Fred Olivieri Construction Company built more than 125 gas stations in Canton and Akron, including projects for Clark Oil, Sohio, Humble Oil, Pure Oil, Mobil Oil, Kocolene Oil, Bonded Oil and Ashland Oil.

Here are some other highlights from our company’s history:

  • First major project—Addition to St. Paul E.U.B. Church, McDonaldsville, OH, 1962
  • Largest project in the 1960s—The Classic Bowl, Canton, OH
  • First shopping center—Suburban Square, Canton, OH, 1968
  • First major restaurant—Boar’s Head, Belden Village, Canton, OH, 1972
  • First mall project—York Steak House, Belden Village, Canton, OH, 1972
  • First out-of-state project—Boar’s Head, Falls Church, VA, 1975
  • First full McDonald’s—Everhard Road, Canton, OH, 1976 (stores built to date: over 200)
The current Fred Olivieri Construction Company corporate headquarters were constructed in 1991 to house our management and support staff. Through the years, the company continued to enjoy steady growth.

Mr. O’s Custom Millwork & Store Fixtures, our subsidiary that designs, fabricates and installs custom woodworking, was founded in 1976. More recent developments include the opening of our Concrete Division in 1999 and the opening of our Southwest Division in 2007.

Today, the company serves the needs of a wide range of commercial, retail and restaurant customers across 30 states.
